From fallen leaves and pumpkin spice to corn mazes and flannel shirts, fall brings many things into our lives. One of them being a holiday that reminds us to take time to appreciate what we have. It’s something most people do not do often enough. So with Thanksgiving just over a week away, we wanted to ask four of our fellow WOWrriors one simple question: what are you thankful for?
Arlene A - Senior Designer
This year has been one of the most difficult ones that I have had recently. Despite all the bad, I have many things that make me feel thankful.
I’m thankful for the people I have in my life. For having an amazing man by my side that loves and supports me despite everything I go through. And after 14 years of the relationship and difficulties, we were finally able to take the next step and get married!
I will always be thankful for my family. For my mom, who is the strongest and most loving woman that I know; for my sisters, whom I am extremely proud of as they grow into young women.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to fulfill one of my dreams of traveling to the country I have always wanted to visit. It’s a trip I am grateful to have taken, and I made some incredible and unforgettable memories.
And I can’t forget the friends I have made since my move to Guadalajara. I am thankful for them; they make my days more fun.
Lourdes V - Senior Account Executive
I'm thankful for my family and the fact that we are always there for each other. For my mom and dad who always show me they love me no matter how far away from each other we are. For my sister, because in her I find someone who I can talk to about anything.
I’m thankful for having a stable job and the people around me here at work who make my days nicer.
For my old and my new friends who even if I don’t see them or talk every day when we do talk, it is as if no time had passed.
Lorena C - Account Director
My journey in 121 has been quite long, and I am thankful for every twist and turn. I have had the good fortune to be a part of this agency for the past 14 and a half years of my life, and I have seen the evolution of 121, and its growth to become a global business with an important position in the industry. Seeing this happen has been very satisfying.
Every single day I’m faced with new challenges, and each day I learn something new. I’ve had the great opportunity to have held various positions within the company which has given me the chance to grow as a professional and as a person. I’m thankful to have superiors that support myself and my work ethic, and have pushed me to be my best no matter what job title I have. To know so many brands, strategies and great people fills me with happiness, and I feel very proud and thankful to be a part of this team.
Mariana - Chief Operating Officer
I am very thankful for the luck I have with my role at 121. Since the very first day I placed a foot in the company I have felt the warmth and support of a large and enthusiastic team that I can now call my family. Not to mention that I have a boss that is a great person and supports me and believes in the value I have within the agency.
I can say without a doubt that 2020 will be holding a lot of fascinating surprises personally and professionally. All of this will not be possible without a team of incredibly talented people that I know can achieve every goal that we may have. These are very exciting times, and for all of that I feel very grateful.
The agency world is often very fast-paced with very little time to stop and smell the roses. But every so often, it is worthwhile to take stock in the things that make us feel thankful, personally and professionally. We hope you have time to ask yourself what you’re thankful for this year, and from all of us at 121, we wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving and holiday season!
